Entering an EQL launch at an event? Here’s how to make sure your entry counts
If you’re at an event with exclusive launches powered by EQL, you’ll want to make sure your entry has its very best chance of being selected. This blog will walk you through how to enter an EQL launch and how it’s giving you your best shot at securing the product you want.
What is EQL?
EQL helps the world’s most beloved brands run fair, secure product launches—especially for high-heat, limited releases. When demand far outweighs supply, EQL steps in to protect real fans and ensure every launch is trustworthy.
At live events, EQL makes sure only attendees physically at the venue can enter (more on how that works below). No bots. No cheaters. Just real fans like you.
How to enter an EQL-powered launch at your event
- Look for signage or brand reps at the event. They’ll let you know when and where the launch goes live and provide a link or QR code to enter.
- Scan the QR code or visit the launch URL on your phone.
- Log in or create an EQL account.
- Enable location sharing when prompted (this is how we confirm you’re really there).
- You may need to enter your wristband, ticket, or registration number if it’s required.
- Then, follow the prompts to submit your entry. That’s it—you’re in!
Be sure to check the brand’s window of entry for the particular launch that you’re interested in. Some brands run their launch before an event, with pickup happening at the event, and some run launches onsite. It’s important to only submit one entry per person so you don’t hurt your chances of being selected.
EQL may ask for your method of payment when submitting your entry solely to validate your entry and ensure you’re a legitimate entrant. However, note that you will not be charged unless you are selected. In some cases, brands will skip this step and have you pay at pickup for your item.
Enabling Location Sharing
Many EQL event launches prioritize in-person attendees, meaning only those physically present have a chance at being selected. This helps us stop bots and resellers who aren’t actually attending. So, to be considered, you must have location sharing enabled before submitting your entry. Here’s how to do that:
- Tap “Allow while using the app” or “Allow location access.”
- Make sure your phone’s location settings are turned on.
- If you block location access, you won’t be able to enter.
Need help? Check your device settings:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Safari (or your browser) → Set to “While Using the App”
- Android: Settings → Location → App permissions → Your browser → Set to “Allow”
If you’re using a Safari browser and experiencing issues, try Chrome. If you still can’t resolve the issue, find a representative onsite who can assist, or reach out to suppor@eql.com.
What happens behind the scenes
Wondering why your retailer is using EQL? Here’s how our platform helps keep things fair:
- Location verification: We only allow entries from verified attendees physically at the event if that’s the brand’s preference.
- Bot blocking: Our system automatically detects and filters out bots and bad actors, making sure real fans get their best chance of securing products.
- Allowing only one entry per person: We prevent duplicates using a mix of account details and device intelligence. It’s up to each retailer how many units a fan can win.
- Random selection: After the entry window closes, winners are chosen via secure randomization.
In a nutshell, no one can "game" the system.
What happens if you’re selected?
If you're one of the lucky selected entrants, you'll get an email with detailed pickup or shipping instructions. Read it carefully.
That email will tell you:
- Whether to pick up on-site or wait for shipping
- When and where to pick up (if required)
- What ID or proof of purchase you’ll need
- Any payment instructions (if payment wasn't already collected)
Keep an eye on your email (and your spam folder). If you miss the instructions or deadline, you may forfeit your product.
Didn’t win this time?
We get it—missing out sucks. But remember:
- You were part of a fair, secure process.
- Bots and bad actors were blocked.
